For decades, multinational corporations have invested in China for the modest production costs and a wildly attractive domestic consumer market. China Plus One, aka Plus One, is the supply chain risk management strategy of divesting from Chinese assets and diverting manufacturing capacity to Southeast Asian economic zones. 

The exodus from China is expected to accelerate for companies selling into the US. Such moves requires careful supply chain orchestration and a close eye on the bottom line. Purchasing managers and middle market manufacturers (SMBs) are responsible for navigating policy changes and shifting market conditions while optimizing supply chain management in the wake of COVID19.
